Localhost 8888 mamp index3/24/2023 No, I haven't imported the database to my local computer, I'm trying to connect to the live database that the live website connects to. Have you import the database file to your database server? I still need to figure out how to add a page, but I can't even get the site loaded locally so I can work on it. I'm not sure why a local version can't access a database when the live site can with the same login credentials?Īny help is much appreciated as I just started this new position, this is one of my first projects for the company and it has me stumped. Deletin g the hostname, username and password from the database.php file, still get the same error.I've tried changing the $config to " but I still get the same error.Line 346 of core/Loader.php is the public function database in the attached image. Quote: Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings. On Mac, MAMP uses ports 8888, 8889, and 7888 by default for Apache Port/Nginx Port/MySQL Port settings, and 80 & 3306 for Web & MySQL MAMP default settings. To find your local ip go to System Preferences > Network. If you run Apache on the default port 80, then you do not need to enter a port number. Note: You need to include the port Apache is running on. This can be done from a mobile device or other Mac. I looked specifically in /opt/local/apache2/htdocs and in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs and changed the index.html files that I found there. Type in the local ip of Mac with your MAMP PRO installed and running to access your localhost. When I try to connect, Firefox and Chrome tells me they cant find the server. In preferences, I have set the ports to 8888 (Apache) and 8889 (MySQL). However I am unable to find (on my machine) the index.html that is served when I type just 'localhost'. I have been using MAMP for some years now without problems, but suddenly one day MAMP could not find localhost:8888. (where 'XXXX' is replaced with our database username and password) My MAMP installation works fine for localhost:8888. Env DB_USER=XXXX DB_PASSWD=XXXX DB_NAME=XXXX php -S localhost:8080
